The Toronto Centre’s SAS programs assist agencies to strengthen the capacity of frontline supervisors in carrying out their early intervention activities. Topics include risk-based supervision frameworks and consolidated supervision of conglomerate financial institutions. Interactive sessions discuss important issues, such as effective planning, offsite monitoring, emerging systemic risks, and onsite activities and follow up.

Program Leaders work with supervisors to address specific supervisory needs - including technical training to assist supervisors to design risk-based approaches to supervision, and assistance in creating effective implementation strategies. SAS programs are delivered with a regional focus, or are developed exclusively for a specific country.

  • Regional SAS Programs are week-long programs delivered in collaboration with experienced regional partners. They are attended by several countries from a specific region, offering participants the opportunity to learn from their peers in other nations who are experiencing similar growth opportunities.

  • Country Programs are week-long programs delivered for individual countries and are designed to address specific challenges and opportunities identified by the host nation. The Toronto Centre also offers a limited number of longer-term developmental programs. Through these programs, the Toronto Centre works with the host nation over a multi-year period to implement risk based concepts into their supervisory frameworks.
